There are 6 rebirth realms : Heaven, humans, demi-gods, animals, hell & ghosts. These realms are not eternal. Buddha was born in this world to teach us how to stop the rebirth cycles as it is very suffering to go through the endless cycles of rebirth.
Buddhists who understand true Buddhism do not wish to be born in heaven as once the good karma of heavenly beings has exhausted, one will be reborn in the lowest realm. However, compare with other realms, heaven is still a better realm.
